How to Contribute
You are invited to join our collaborative community! Learn more about contributing your teaching ideas and materials to the Deltos Project here.
The Deltos Project brings together a curated set of resources for teaching gender and sexuality in the ancient Mediterranean. A module may be organized around a topic, a specific text or object, a particular figure, or a theoretical framework.
We welcome submissions that fulfill or expand our current scope. We are especially excited for modules that offer ready-to-use, innovative, and effective teaching materials, such as workshops, discussion questions, and other activities.
If you are interested in proposing a module, please email us at deltosproject@gmail.com.
For more information and guidance on preparing your module, peruse our LIBRARY OF MODULES and read through the submission instructions. When you are ready, click the SUBMIT A MODULE button above to upload your materials through the submission form. Note that the form cannot save, so be sure to have everything ready and designate adequate time to complete the process.
DETAILED SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS ARE AVAILABLE AS A DOWNLOADABLE PDF

Each module begins with a title, thumbnail image, author’s name, and brief introduction, which will represent the module on the “Explore our Module’s Page.”
All modules are organized into eight primary categories: Archaeology, Culture, History, Literature, Pedagogy, Theory, Reception, and Multidisciplinary. These categories help sort our library of modules but need not be restrictive. Though your module may span multiple categories, please select one that makes the most sense for the material in its pedagogical context.
Please add a concise framing discussion that acquaints the user with the module’s subject matter, content, and aims. Ideally, modules will be adaptable to teaching at different levels and in different styles (e.g., seminar, lecture, online).
There are fields on the submission form for you to enter primary and secondary sources as texts, images, and/or as links to external sites. Please provide working links to open access material wherever possible. See the Creative Commons website for more information.
Describe and upload your resources, including slides, activities, multimedia resources, and instructor’s notes. We welcome innovative pedagogies! In the CONTENT box, list and describe what you are uploading. Submit your files below. Your submitted files will be downloadable using the buttons at the top of the Module page. Please zip your files. You can learn how on a Mac here, or on Windows here.
The site works best if you upload simple text (without elaborate formatting). Be ready with all of your content, including images with captions, Zipped files, and comments for the text boxes, prior to beginning your upload: The form doesn’t allow submissions to be saved in process.
After we receive your module, our editorial team will review it within a month. We will lightly edit your module for formatting. If we see the need for substantive revisions, we will reach out to you. Once the editing process is complete, your module will be published on the site and you will receive a message with your module’s URL and attribution information. Please reach out if you would like to preview your module prior to publication.
